Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026. Flight Mapper is operated by Alexa Business Aviation Management ("Alexa Aviation", "we", "us"). This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights.
Summary
In plain English: Flight Mapper does not require an account, does not store your routes, and does not sell data to anyone. We use Google Analytics for aggregate, anonymous usage statistics. We may show advertising via Google AdSense. That's it.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide directly
Flight Mapper has no signup, login, or account system. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personal identifiers when you use the tool. You may voluntarily provide an email address if you choose to contact us at comercial@alexaaviation.com.
1.2 Information collected automatically
When you visit Flight Mapper, the following is automatically collected:
- Standard server logs via our hosting provider (Vercel): IP address, browser type, operating system, access timestamps. Used solely for security, performance monitoring, and abuse prevention. Retained for up to 30 days.
- Google Analytics events: page views, anonymized geographic location (country level), device category, and feature-specific events such as route added, briefing opened, GPS used. For "route added", we send the airport codes involved (e.g., SBGR → KMIA) and the calculated distance — without any user identifier. IPs are anonymized by Google before storage.
- Vercel Web Analytics: cookieless aggregate metrics such as unique visitors, top pages, and traffic sources.
- Google AdSense (where present): personalized advertising cookies. See Google's advertising policy for details.
1.3 GPS / Location
If you tap the GPS button, your browser will request your permission to share your location. Once granted, your coordinates are used only locally inside your browser tab to drop a pin on the map and let you reference the MYLOC token. We never receive, store, or transmit your GPS coordinates to any server. The data is erased when you close the tab.
1.4 Local browser storage
We use the browser's localStorage (not cookies) to remember:
- Your theme preference (light, dark, or auto)
- Whether you've dismissed the install banner (and when)
- Whether you've completed the introductory tour
This data lives only in your browser and never leaves your device. You can clear it any time via your browser's site settings.
2. How we use the information
We use collected information to:
- Operate and improve Flight Mapper (understand which features are used, find bugs, prioritize improvements)
- Detect and prevent abuse, spam, and security threats
- Comply with legal obligations
- If you contact us, respond to your inquiry
We do not use any data for individual user profiling, behavioral targeting, or sale to third parties.
3. Sharing with third parties
We use the following third-party services, each with its own privacy practices:
- Vercel — Hosting and analytics. Vercel Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics — Aggregate usage statistics. Google Privacy Policy. IP anonymization is enabled.
- Google AdSense (where present) — Advertising. AdSense ad policies.
- Esri, OpenStreetMap, CARTO — Map tile providers. Your IP is necessarily disclosed when your browser requests tiles.
- cdnjs / unpkg — JavaScript and CSS asset delivery. Your IP is disclosed when assets load.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information with any party.
4. Cookies
Cookies are set by:
- Google Analytics — to identify unique visitors (cookies named
_ga,_gid, etc). - Google AdSense (where present) — for ad targeting and frequency capping.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so will not affect Flight Mapper's core functionality.
5. Your rights (LGPD, GDPR)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion
- Object to or restrict processing
- Request data portability
- Withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent)
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority
To exercise these rights, email comercial@alexaaviation.com. Note that since we don't have user accounts, we generally don't hold personal information directly attributable to you — but where we do (e.g., email correspondence), we'll honor your request.
6. International data transfers
Vercel, Google, and other providers may process data in the United States or elsewhere. By using Flight Mapper, you understand that your data may be transferred outside your country of residence. These transfers are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
7. Children's privacy
Flight Mapper is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us so we can delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security practices: HTTPS for all traffic, modern hosting infrastructure, and minimal data retention. No system is perfectly secure, but since we collect very little data, the risk surface is small.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of Flight Mapper after changes constitutes acceptance.
